I went to Baseco last Sunday, nagkita-kita na naman kami ng mga makukulit na bata ng Baseco...
Maricar invited me to be there to help her, kasi lahat ng leaders eh nasa ILC...kaya wala syang makasama doon....at doon, nagkita-kita na naman kami ng mga students ko sa painting, and they were repeatedly asking me kung kelan mauulit ung painting sessions namin....kasi we stopped during christmas season, until now, wala pa rin kaming budget to push the program for them.
And there, nakuwento nila sa akin na, out of 20 active kids on painting ay nakapasok sa top 12 ang karamihan sa kanila kung saan sila simali noong last November....As I remember that event, they were asked to conceptualize and paint about their life Before GK and After GK, and how GK changed their lives....they were given only 1 hour to finish the project.. kahit ako, walang idea kung para saan yung ginagawa nilang painting....all i thought is that, it's a part of an exhibit lang....pero i was there, just to assist them on what to do and what medium they need to use.... that time, naawa ako sa kanila kasi di masyadong maganda ung mediums na prepared for them, kaya di nila nagawa ng maayos... i dont really expect for anything talaga, kasi bukod sa konti at hindi talaga maganda yung materials nila, 1 hour lang ang time limit nila dahil may pupuntahan pa sila kuya Lindon at ate Sarah that time.
Nakaka-touch lang dahil hinihintay nila ako the time na bibigyan sila ng award. Akala nila alam ko na aaward-an sila.. they keep on asking me kung kelan namin ipu-push ang painting sessions namin....
Nung malaman ko kung ano ang prizes nila, mas lalo akong nagulat.... the grandprize winner will take home $200, scholarship and painting materials... the program won't be made possible without the help of ANCOP Foundation. Thank you so much!
Ang my message for you kids, You will always be my pride...you always make me proud of you. With your own little ways, you always make me feel happy and always makes me realize that Dreams can be achieved if You believe in yourself... It's not what I thought you but what you really don't know is that you thought me a lot.
You can achieve, just never stop dreaming, hoping and hardwork in everything you do... Always keep your best foot forward...and i will be forever be proud to say that ones in my life, you became my students and friends... This is an advance birthday gift for me..thanks a lot!!! :)
