.:Bathing with SAGIP and SIBOL Kids:.

As part of the SFC's weekly activity at Gawad Kalinga Foundation (Baseco), pinaliguan namin ung mga bata ng GK Village last Sunday....

Our call time is 8 a.m., kasi darating na ung Firemen na may dalang isang truck to tubig para paliguan yung mga bata.....heheheh..ang saya, kasi para silang mga sisiw na nagtatampisaw sa tubig.....

Lahat sama-sama, parang fiesta ng San Juan, dahil lahat kami basang basa at naligo.....

Ito ang bonding namin with the kids...for them to feel that their ates and kuyas really cares for them....

It was a very heartwarming experience kapag nagpapasuklay sila sayo ng buhok o nagapapalagay ng powder, o nagpapalinis ng tenga...You can teach them so they can learn...teach them on how to stand on their own... things you can teach and give that sometimes were not given at schools...

As what i told them, they are lucky kasi madami ang nagmamahal sa kanila....And it feels great kasi someone can touch and change lives in your very simple ways....

Also included is a rare interview with Braziliannovelist and icon Paulo Coelho (whom she met in Londonin 1997), as well as her encounters with French marinearchaeologist Franck Goddio who discovered the SanDiego galleon wreckage, and American photographer A.Victor Goodpasture who recounted his expedition toAntarctica.

"Traveling, for me, is a never-ending source ofunfamiliar joy and this book is its celebration," saysthe author, who admits that most of her personal tripsare taken alone. "Traveling alone gives you adifferent perspective of life. There is magic insolitude. When I travel by myself to a distant place,I realize that discovery and transformation areindistinguishable gifts that always come in pairs".

************************************************

Yesterday, I attended a book launch of one of my favorite writers here in the Philippines... She is Ms.Anjie Ureta, who is a former line producer and script writer of "The Inside Story", "OFF The Record by Randy David and Katrina Legarda", "F" and more docu shows in ABS-CBN; an adventurer and explorer.

She happened to be the friend of my good friend and mentor Maam Sue, who is also writer and researcher, basta inline sa Arts and culture panalo ito..heheh..

Our company was cordially invited to attend that book launch, for most of her writings were published in our paper....lahat yata ng travels and adventures niya, eh nakasulat sa book na ito... syempre, personal encounters and researches nya...

But sadly, i was the only one who made it...kasi naman, i am personally invited by Maam Sue (who is the editor of this book)... to play as one of the staff sa gagawing launch...

Haay! nakakapagod din pala...kala ko puro lang kuwentuhan un.... ang dami ding guests and most faces u can see are those who belong to upper society... there are models, reporters, writers of course, renowned musicians, singers, famous artists, and some of their collegues in ABS-CBN.

When i get the venue, inapproach agad ako ni maam sue, hehehe... then after that pumasok na kami sa room ng mga artists and guests for the program... Then i saw Ms. Anjie, fixing herself na..heheheh....

Di ko akalain na, a successful woman like her can be very KIKAY... akala ko snob sya...kasi pag pumupunta sya sa office, di ako makakilos kasi akala ko strict sya... pero strict sya talaga pag dating sa work...but when you get to know her personally, she's so ma-kuwento and super kalog.

And so, binigyan kami (together with Marge, who is also an ECE, a researcher and technical staff of ABS-CBN, sabi ni Marge, name it she have it all..sobrang sipag! heheheh!! ) ng task on how to assist them, in accommodating the visitors and of course, the most important is to check the booksales from time to time.

I'm so thankful kasi, in all aspects, maam sue is still giving me her full trust... after all these times, though we're far apart na..heheheh...

The show was great!! Chin-Chin Gutierrez sang an opening prayer, and she also performed several times, (her renowned Uyayi performace, which has been very popular in some parts of the world); the country's renowned flutist, Tony Maigue (wow! huge performance, very soulful); An indian native musician (sorry, i forgot to jot down his name, kasi mahirap i-spell..hehehe!); and The Country's Prima Ballerina, Liza Macuja-Elizalde...

Meeting them is like a heaven to me..hehehe...i don't expect that in my life, I could meet these kind of personalities...

As what other people say..they are simple but ohh so powerful... Tindig pa lang, alam mo ng may sinasabi...di na kailangang magsalita o magyabang... :)

The show was great!! kasi ang format nya is like ur opening the book itself... The program shows and describes of what would you expect to read and get from the book.... parang your turning the pages at the same time...

Syempre, may authograph signing...heheheh... After that, pahinga ulit sa dressing room...
Nung pumasok si Ms. Anjie sa room, you can see on her face ang sobrang tuwa, she can't even remember what happened that night, dahil sa sobrang successful ng book launch nya...

Then, she gave her presents to us, and said "Thank you!!"..then invited us to eat sushi... Then chin-chin went inside the room...chit chat with them...ako?? quiet lang..heheh...

I am overwhelmed, kasi i am expecting na when ur with the group of writers and elites, u would expect na they would talk pure english....hindi pala... nakakatuwa sila kasi, they can laugh as loud as they can..they can be themselves and you can see the unending happiness on their faces.... In short, nagpapakatotoo sila....

How can you imagine successful writers and artists like them, talking like: "Bonnga ang lola mo?", "talagang kinarir!", "Cozy to death, pero nilaos ang pagiging cozy niya", and "Alis na tayo, pero PATAK-PATAK, wala ng mga budget ang mga lola mo"...hehhe...their so simple, they're so real...they don't need to be pretentious...

Then, pack-up na... uwian na..sobrang pagod na ung iba...ung iba naman, umalis to celebrate...si maam sue, hinatid ako sa sakayan with Marge, si marge kasi may work pa, kailangan nyang makahabol sa studio ng "Insider"

it was a very wonderful, yet busy and hectic event..heheheh..

To you Ms. Anjie, CONGRATULATIONS!!

and to you Mam Sue, hinihintayin ko ung book launch mo....hheheheh!! thank you for ur trusts and faith in me.

Your Life

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar... A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, wordlessly, he picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full.

The students responded with a infamous "yes."

The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed. "Now," said the professor, as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things. Your family, your children, your faith, your health, your friends, and your favorite passions. Things that if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter. Your job, your house, and your car. The sand is everything else. The small stuff. "If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff, you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children.

Take time to get medical checkups. Take your partner out to dinner. Play another 18.

There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal.

Take care of the golf balls first, the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand." One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented. The professor smiled. "I'm glad you asked. It just goes to show you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."
