.:Jesus Conference at Marikina City:.
After a week-long practice, here we are to compete to the other Kids for Christ... Talagang nininerbiyos ako but the kids are very confident with the competition..besides, they are very excited about it... si El John napaiyak pa kasi akala nya di sya makakasama.
Our call time is 7 a.m., pero malakas ang ulan, i thought, di na kami tutuloy..pero si Tito Abeng? sobrang pursigido na ituloy ang laban...nagkaron pa kami ng problem regarding our transpo, though nandun si Jasper, kailangan pa din namin ng ibang sasakyan para sa mga bata, kaya sobrang hilo si Rosalie kung ano ang gagawin Kasama namin ang mga bata sa Paradise Heights who will participate on the said event but not on the painting competition... they are there to represent their place...
When we're in Marikina, sinalubong kami ng matamis na ngiti ni Tito Dodie, who is very proud with the kids..si Tito, kahit saan, talagang pinagmamalaki ang batang ito......
After I registered their names, direcho kami sa painting area, sa bleachers ng Marikina Sports Complex...Late na kami, halos patapos na ung iba.
Bad thing, we didn't bring our own paints...kasi naman we thought, they are the ones who will give us the materials...buti na lang at may nagbigay...
I prepared their brushes and other materials.... from the very start, they know already what to do... their division of works and others...
But unluckily, we didn't win..for some reasons?? maybe the organizers know... but im very confident that if it is the Kid to Kid competition, we had all the chance to win...
Well, as always, better luck next time... di ko na naabutan ang awarding...umuwi na kami agad ni Rosalie kasi we need to prepare for YFC-SFC Crossover presentation, wherein Arvey will perform..heheheh!!!
Kaya umuwi ako na antok na antok, dahil birthday pa ni Gary the next day.....hush...hectic.!! :p

.:Through the Palette's Eye:.
Early Monday morning, tinawagan ko si Mam sue regarding dun sa lakad namin to curate an exhibit....yehey!!...actually, this is not my first time to join her sa pagcu-curate ng exhibit... We did "Love Letters" before, almost a year ago na sa UP Vargas Museum and Philippine Post Office... so it's my pleasure to join her again for this very wonderfu exhibit of Mr and Mrs Hizon...It's an exhibit of palettes or painting plates designed by some of the renowned artists of the country, such as my favorites Malang, Bencab, Ang Kiukok and others... Syempre, excited ako noh... kasi i got the chance to see their paintings live...
Nagleave muna ako sa office for a day... to see my doctor at Medical City and go straight to Megamall and help them out..heheh!!
But honestly, i haven't met Mr. Hizon personally... I thought he was just an ordinary art lover...
Till he dropped by the place just to check out what's happening to the venue... He is so cool, very funny and have a lot of sense of humor...he always want everything to be in place and proper...
He treated us pizza..hehehe shhhaarrrrap!!!
Then, after a long tiring day....nagyayaan kami ni Maam Sue and Miss Gik sa National bookstore to buy scrapbook for their docus... and a stuff for Mr and Mrs Hizon's child...
Then we go upstairs to hand over the the gift for Mico from maam susan ang ms gik....
Tapos, nung paguwi namin ni Maam Sue, tinanong ko sya who Mr. Hizon is... kasi he looks familiar to me....aside from kahawig nya si Angelo Castro of ANC...
Then Maam Sue told me na..He is Mr. Hizon, a news anchor of (British Broadcast Corporation) BBC's "Business Asia", who based in Singapre and wife Mrs. Melanie Hizon and their child...
Nagulat, namangha, at naloka ako nung malaman ko un..hahahahah...kasi while we're taking pictures (Me, mam sue and ms gik)..nakita nyang hirap ako, then he told me "Ill take u pictures para di ka mahirapan, as tres marias"...buti na lang e mejo tinamaan ako ng hiya nun....hahahaah!!! kasi kung nagkataon, parang sya pa ang kukuha ng pics for the three of us..
And this night, maam sue texted me, that it was a blockbuster opening...and they are expecting more to come... I was invited, kaso i can't make it kasi, as usual, IT'S PRESSWORK!! No one is allowed to have a party" :(
Anyways, being part of it is enough for me...It's always been my pleasure that i will treasure forever!!
MR AND MRS. HIZON TOGETHER WITH MAAM SUE, MS GIK AND ALL THE STAFF..OF COURSE, THOSE PAINTERS WHO CONTRIBUTED TO MAKE THIS EVENT POSSIBLE BY SHARING THEIR GOD-GIVEN TALENTS!!!******CONGRATULATIONS******
INVITATION GIVEN TO ME!! HEHEHEH See how great our Filipino painters are?? Galing nila noh??hehehehe!!!

.:Draw the KING:.
Yesterday, i taught the kids on how to draw a portrait using pencil (shading)... I really had fun....kasi naman, ang dami kong nilagay na posters sa board for them to draw (such as Vaness Wu, Ken Zhu and KING)...but most of them chose King....
At dahil ung iba eh di pa masyadong sanay sa shading... they borrowed my sketches for King.... And as u will notice sa photos, puro si King ang drinawing nila...heheheeh....(walang impluwensya yan ha! hahahahah!!!)...marami naman silang pwedeng makuha sa sketchpad ko eh....pero ung portraits ni king ang gusto nila..kaya pinabayaan ko na lang..kahit medyo nadumihan..huhuhu :(...
Un lang, masaya talaga..And its so nice to know that they look up to KING!!! :)
Kaya nilang magtiyaga kahit walang tables and chairs, basta makapagdrawing lang
Dibdiban sa pagdo-drawing..heheheh!!

.:The Day with the SATURDAY GROUP:.
Yesterday, got the chance to see THE SATURDAY GROUP of painters having their painting session at Ali Mall...Saturday Group is the well-known group of painters here in the Philippines.. some of their members are Mauro Malang, Concovar, Fernando Sena (my mentor), and a lot more...
Early in the morning, me and mam sue talked about some things... then, suddenly she told me na may interview sya with Mr. Mauro Malang (Candidate for National Artist, one of the most renowned artist here in the Philippines... one of the icon in the field of arts and paintings...sya ung nag-endorse ng Bear Brand before, with his children and grandchildren...) and some artists of the Saturday Group... As in sobrang nanlaki ang eyes ko nung marinig ko ung Malang... I long to see him in person... I use to see his paintings in galleries and exhibits but never met him yet...
But that day, it was my chance to see him in person...so sabi ni maam sue, "Sige, meet tayo sa Ali Mall ng 12 nn"... sobrang excited ako!!!... And so, i cancelled my sked para sa training mga ng students ko sa GK, just to give way for this...Pwedeng once lang kasi ito mangyari sa buhay ko..hehehe!!!
When i got there, Maam Sue is waiting for me na..then we ate lunch..gutom na daw sya...mahabang interviewhan daw un, kasi 5 artists ang scheduled nya for interview....
Then we went to their room, they are starting their painting session already...As we enter the room, Mr. Malang warmly acknowledged Mam Susan's presence (bilib talaga ako sa girl na ito!)..
Then, mam susan introduced me to Mr. Malang and the rest of the staffs of the Saturday Group..nkakahiya man, but i felt so flattered that day... Mr. Malang offered me a seat, ikaw ba ang di ma-flatter nun noh... then he told me na i can watch the artists and can get some ideas and techniques in painting...then sabi ni mam susan na, mahilig nga daw ako sa paintings and artworks....
So si mam sue, tuloy sa exclusive room to have her interview... ako?? i stayed outside with the artists....ANG GAGALING NILA!! Some are old na, u can see lines on their faces, but those lines would ony tell na...they've gone too far on their chosen field.... Some are young naman, as young as my age up to late 30's...pero di nagpapatalo...
Then suddenly, merong isang painter na pinagkukumpulang ng ibang painters na nandun... I didn't noticed him at first... but the time he turned, i recognized that he was Sir Nanding (My mentor)..Wala talaga akong masabi, kahit sa on-the-spot..d best talaga si sir... he held my hand and told me that i need to go back in the painting industry...(Huwaw! gusto kong tumalon sa tuwa, dahil he still recognized me for so many students na nagkaron sya na talagang masasabing magagaling talaga).. He said, if I have any questions and problems regarding my training.. i can still count on him.... Hearing that from the person u idolize the most, sounds like a ringing bell to me...
Then they had their merienda at 4 p.m. na... Mr. Malang gave me a drink and offered me a banana cake (Masarap ung banana cake)..pero ang pinakamasarap ay ung matandaan ang pangalan mo ng mga taong akala ko eh di ko na makikita at makakausap ng personal... Their all nice and very down-to-earth, that makes me admire them more.... They have names of their own in this field...but still, they are willing to give their legacies to the young once... Mabuhay kayo!!!
I don't want to sound like a name dropper pero un talaga ung story nun.. I didn't get the chance to have a pic with them, kasi meron silang meeting regarding the Bantay Bata Foundation, in which, they should sell 50 paintings, that would be donated to the Bantay Bata Foundation.... Their best paintings would be showcased somewhere..where is that?? di ko na natandaan, kasi i am watching Sir Sena, the way he played with colors and the way he makes his paintings more realistic, detailed and very dynamic... That what makes their name known.. :)
On the left photo: Mr. Sena (wearing red cap and blue/light yellow/white polo)...On the right photo are some of the members of the SATURDAY GROUP!!
